I have traveled several times to Seattle and every time I’m there, my hubby and I go to a hip little thai place downtown called Thai Toms. Its an authentic thai restaurant and “Tom” actually cooks for you. The first time I went there he gave me the hottest spiced Thai food I had ever had and kept pouring me more water and smiling. It was my introduction to Seattle. And I fell in love.
The City Girls in Seattle are super cool and expressive. There is a huge vintage community there so it seems like the girls mix the old with the new. Which is not a bad thing because the ever popular Grunge Movement began there. (Nirvana Anyone?) The Grunge vibe has been back in fashion for a couple years now and it seems like it may stay for some time to come. Its all about layering and throwing pieces together that feel natural and not forced. Like tying a plaid shirt around your waste as if you may or may not wear it later in the night…its all about nonchalant ease, which definitely being edgy at the same time.
My Seattle City girl is rocking skinny jeans with rips above the knees and frayed bottoms. A crop top tank with a bomber coat thrown over. And of course her plaid tie-around. She always has an umbrella handy in case it rains and sure enough, it did.
